Assistant Learning Center Coordinator

Department / Division: Youth Programs
Position Description: Support the Learning Center Coordinator with the implementation of daily programs for school age children and their families.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Recreation, Sociology or Human Services strongly preferred or equivalent education and/or experience.  High School diploma required. Minimum of one year work experience in a group leadership position with youth. Valid North Carolina driver’s license and ability to work weekends and evenings.  Must be 21 years old.

Duties and Responsibilities: Assist Learning Center Coordinator in planning monthly schedule of activities including daily homework tutoring, special activities, field trips, support services, wellness classes. Observe, record and report individual child’s behavior and progresses as assigned. Participates in daily cleaning of program space. Assist with transportation services for school pick-ups and off site events for youth. This position works Mondays – Fridays from 2:30pm – 6:30pm during the school year and 9:00am – 5:00pm on Teacher Workdays and Summer and Winter Breaks. Salary:  $9.00 - $11.00 per hour, depending upon background and experience.  Locations include both Mecklenburg County and Union County, please include within your cover letter which county you are applying for.
