Here are some gift planning options for you to consider:

Bequests

Outright bequest: In this example, YWCA will receive a specific dollar amount or percentage that you specify (ex: personal property, stock, real estate).

Residual bequest: YWCA will receive all of the rest, residue and remainder of the estate after the family and heirs have been provided for.

Contingent bequest: YWCA will receive property only if certain other contingencies have occurred.

Codicil: A codicil is an amendment to a will. It is a separate document that can add, subtract or modify a provision in the will (i.e., including provision naming the YWCA to receive a planned gift

Other options include:

Securities with low cost basis

Real property

Personal property (ex: jewelry, paintings, etc)

Life insurance

IRA's

Cash

Charitable Remainder Trusts

Memorials and Endowments

Give your home (live there for lifetime)

If you plan to make a charitable gift by will, please think it through carefully and then meet with your attorney to discuss and update your will. Tell him/her exactly what you want to do. Be as clear as possible in describing what you want given to whom.
