TC small Box1American Red Cross Babysitters Training Classes offered by Charlotte Safety Training at YWCA
Saturday, July 2, 2013: 9 AM- 4 PM

The Babysitters Training Course is one-day class that prepares youth ages 11-15 to become responsible babysitters. Participants will learn how to care for children ages 0-10, activities to do with young children, create a babysitting business plan, and be prepared to handle emergency situations. Students will leave with the knowledge of how young children act and play. This course provided hands on caregiving from feeding, changing, playing, and preparing for bedtime. This class is a great opportunity for older siblings who may be caring for younger siblings and those looking to pursue babysitting or be mother's helpers.

Cost: $65 members/ $75 non members

Free Fall Prevention Course

The Center for Aging is launching a first of its kind program in Charlotte which has proven to significantly reduce falls in seniors. This is a medically developed program which will run for threeHappy-Old-People-months on Tuesdays and Thursdays for one-hour. Led by Arthritis Foundation of America Certified trainers, participants will gain skills and strength which will help preserve quality of life. International research has shown that a regular and consistent balance exercise program in older adults significantly decreases falls. **** Program is open to those ages 60 and older not wheelchair bound ****
