Tuff Girl Boot Camp - Summer Session

Bodies come in all beautiful shapes and sizes, but one thing remains the same, everyone wants to be in great shape! Get healthy and toned for an upcoming special day, or simply because you are worth it!  Participants of all fitness levels are welcome. Meet Trinity, Boot Camp Instructor: runningtrin
Trinity began at the YWCA as a volunteer with the YW Run Club, and moved on to become an instructor in 2013.  Trinity is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer as well as ACE Group Fitness Instructor, and is also certified in Spin through AFAA G.E.A.R.  She teaches a variety of classes, including cardio, strength/toning, spin, and bootcamp.
When Trinity is not working at the YW, she is a stay-at-home mother, member of the Tennessee Air National Guard Band of the South, personal trainer, and avid distance runner.  Her favorite aspect of teaching fitness is seeing not only the physical but also the mental and emotional transformations an individual makes when he or she finds their own strength.

Total Yoga takes a therapeutic approach to yoga, focusing on holistic, systemic wellness. The  accessiblility for everyone suports improvement in mental as well as physical health.  Total Yoga is based on the principles of Subtle Yoga, Sivananda Yoga, Kripalu Yoga, Color Me Yoga for Children, & YogArt (an approach blending yoga and expressive arts, created by Maria Curran) and Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction.  It takes into account the ancient yogic system of the 8-limbed path.  A typical class  incorporates breathing practice, meditation practice, postures or asanas, deep relaxation, and group discussion designed to promote self-awareness.  Postures used are accessible and adaptable, as well as trauma-informed, encouraging practitioners to incorporate aspects into their daily lives.
